The Challenge

Mammoth Biosciences, a CRISPR-based biotech startup, needed a professional WordPress website to communicate complex scientific innovations to investors, partners, and the scientific community.

Working as a contractor through LeaseLabs agency, I developed the site from provided Figma designs, focusing on:

  • Pixel-perfect implementation of agency design specs
  • Complex content hierarchy for multiple audience segments
  • Performance optimization despite rich scientific imagery
  • Responsive design for conference and mobile presentations
  • Clean, accessible code following web standards

  • Fully functional WordPress website with 15+ pages
  • Modern, professional design matching biotech industry standards
  • Mobile-first responsive design

2. Custom Features

  • Dynamic news section with latest company updates
  • Team directory showcasing leadership and scientific advisors
  • Integrated contact forms with spam protection
  • Newsletter signup functionality

  • Fast page load times (optimized images and code)
  • Search engine optimized pages and content
  • Google Analytics integration for tracking visitors
  • Sitemap and meta tag optimization

Project Outcomes

The Mammoth Biosciences website launched successfully three days ahead of schedule, achieving exceptional performance metrics from day one. The site scored 92/100 on desktop and 85/100 on mobile in PageSpeed testing, with a first contentful paint of just 1.2 seconds and time to interactive under 3 seconds. These performance benchmarks were critical for a biotech company presenting complex scientific information to time-sensitive audiences like investors and research partners.

The project’s success extended beyond launch metrics. The LeaseLabs team provided positive feedback on collaboration and execution quality, and the client was successfully trained to manage their own content updates, including news posts, team member profiles, and page modifications. The scalable WordPress architecture supports Mammoth’s ongoing growth, providing a professional digital presence that has served the company through subsequent funding rounds and partnership announcements.
